Whey protein concentrate WPC 80 is a high‑protein powder containing around 80% whey proteins. It has low fat and lactose content, good solubility, and a neutral to mildly milky taste. It is primarily intended for formulations with pronounced nutritional and functional protein requirements.

The starting raw material is liquid whey from cow’s milk processing. Compared with lower‑protein concentrates, the process is more intensive and includes:

  • Multi‑step ultrafiltration and/or diafiltration (to increase protein proportion)
  • Concentration of the retentate
  • Spray drying into powder

WPC 80 is further controlled for protein, lactose, fat content, and instant properties, which is crucial for use in protein drinks and supplements.
